A few more pictures from Paris

So here are some pictures from my week in Paris. I will give a little explanation with each.

Here is a picture of me after a day in Versailles, after I mistakenly allowed Kyle to lead us to the Metro stop. Kyle basically has the worst sense of direction of anyone ever.. He lead us about 2-3 miles out of the way to get to a metro.... I should have trusted my instincts and just gone the way I said it was. Well, either way, this is a picture from the Metro stop where he would say, "your face when...." This one is a squirrel in my pants.

Okay, so that is it for that little sequence. There are some more, but my flickr account is maxed out for the month.

This was on the train after versailles, when were heading back to Paris.

I think this was in Versailles, but I don't recall (the city area, not palace)

I found this painting to be quite beautiful / Another picture of kyle and I before we went out.. Cute huH?

Okay, well that is all for now.. Maybe I'll post some more pictures of art, versailles, etc.

I find this video to be of the awesome kind

Paris

Well, I have now been in Paris for about 4 days and have been enjoying it thoroughly. However, for some reason Kyle and I cannot get up before noon. For instance, the other day we woke up at 8:00a.m. (it was still dark outside) and we started talking and listening to music before falling back to sleep until 1:00p.m. I guess all the walking and sightseeing is making us tired, who knows.

So far we have been to Galleries Lafayette (huge mall), Le Louvre, Notre Dame and many other neighborhoods. We have had many great conversations (with people from around the world) ranging from things to do in the city to books to read and how easy it is to move to another country.

Well today we are planning on going to the Musee D'Orsay, the Eiffel Tower, do some shopping (kyles feet hurt, so he needs to get some new shoes) and then possibly a concert. We are also going to venture around and try to find ourselves some French girlfriends. It is unbelievable how well all the girls dress. This led Kyle and I to try and learn some additional French. Kyle's memory isn't the best, so I had to remember how to say, "I love you" "You are very Beautiful" and "can I have a kiss." Kyle just greets them, then I have to do the rest.

I am still a bit tired right now, so I am not going to type much more than this, but I will share some pictures.

These Police were out and about because there was a huge protest down rue st. michelle (the street we're staying on).

Off to Paris

Well, I am going to be leaving for Paris in a few hours. People keep asking me if I'm excited and to be quite honest, I am not. Only because I have this little thing called a 14 hour flight that I have to sit on before I get to Paris and for those of you who are not 6'3 (yes, if you are 6'2 it doesn't suck) or taller, it sucks. I will be meeting up with my good friend Kyle and we will be wandering the streets for a week. We are staying in a hotel in an area called St. Michelle, which is beautiful (it was one of my favorite areas when I was there last time). It is supposed to be pretty cold, so I packed every coat that I own and some thermals, etc.

I am also taking my camera (as expected right?) and hopefully I'll take some good pictures of the sites. I could only hope to take pictures 1/2 as beautiful as the ones below, which were taken by Zach Pianko the last time I was there (if you ever need some photos [wedding, sweet 16, Bar Mitzvah] you can find him at zackpianko.blogspot.com).

Relaxing Day

Recently I have decided that I must get out more often, so I started this week. To get things kicked off Brent and I went to Magnolia Pub and Brewery the other night had a few beers, it was a grand ol' time. Today I kept continued with my goal and took off for a good portion of the day. I parked my car on Hayes street and walked down to Hayes Valley (currently one of my favorite places to visit), with a book and my camera in hand. Once I got down there I walked over to the revered Blue Bottle Roasting Co. and grabbed one of their famous individual drip coffees and a bottle of water. Then I walked to the little park where many people were enjoying the beautiful, sunny day and began reading Mere Christianity. So far, I am really enjoying the book and will probably finish up on my flight to Paris. After reading for a bit I moved on and went over to one of my favorite little cafe's called La Boulange and had some lunch. Once I was done there, I walked back to my car, drove up a few blocks to Alamo Square and took a few pictures.
