UghghghHGGH DPT
I have received many B.S. tickets from San Francisco Department of Parking and Transportation, but the one I got this morning was over the top. I received an $88 ticket for "parking in a driveway." These are pictures of where I was parked.
So here is the "driveway" I was parked in front of...

Or maybe it was the white curb? Is this white? is it even possible to discern this at 10p.m. when I parallel parked into a small spot? Um, no... its not.

What the Heck. Indie Elitists to see the New Twilight?
Reading around I found out that not only will Death Cab for Cutie appear on the Twilight Sequel, New Moon, many other reputable indie bands are too. Check out the track listing that was released on Myspace:
1. Death Cab For Cutie – Meet Me On The Equinox
2. Band Of Skulls – Friends
3. Thom Yorke- Hearing Damage
4. Lykke Li – Possibility
5. The Killers - A White Demon Love Song
6. Anya Marina – Satellite Heart
7. Muse - I Belong To You (New Moon Remix)
8. Bon Iver and St. Vincent – Rosyln
9. Black Rebel Motorcycle Club - Done All Wrong
10. Hurricane Bells – Monsters
11. Sea Wolf – The Violet Hour
12. Ok Go- Shooting The Moon
13. Grizzly Bear - Slow Life
14. Editors – No Sound But The Wind
15. Alexandre Desplat – New Moon (The Meadow)
Ummm.. I'm sold on quite a few bands in there and the others aren't bad. Maybe it won't be compelling enough to see the movie, but who knows.

Some Music for the Week Off
After 8 long months, I am finally taking a little time off. Everyone keeps asking me "where are you going?" Pshh.. Sucka, I am going nowhere. I am sitting at home, not planning anything and enjoying some R&R. I turning the email function off on my phone and not answering any calls from work. I really need this time off, I was starting to get really crabby.
So my goal is to focus on finding some new music, listening to music, reading, biking, etc. I guess I sort of do have some plans...
My good friends The Local Natives were up for a show at The Independent this last week and played a great show. I was talking to Matt about their publicity and told him how much I loved their exlcusive they put out on the Aurgasm blog. They also played a new song, which sounded great (I really can't describe it, I was a bit tipsy at the time). Keep an eye out for them in the near future, they're doing great things!
Local Natives - Camera Talk (Acoustic Aurgasm Exclusive)
Secondly, I will be attending the Telefon Tel Aviv concert this next Saturday. Not that many people come across my blog, but they're great. If you haven't heard them, listen to the media player on the side... I'm still learning to link the music to the yahoo player.

Dinner Feast Prepared by Brent
New Apartment Part 3
My Room and the Toast
I moved into a new place in the Mission District of San Francisco the other week and after a couple crazy weeks of work and moving, I finally found some time to take a few pictures and upload them. Here we go.
Brent taking a look at the cork from the Dom P he just opened. The champagne was delightful, even my dad liked it. The next 4 pictures after, are few different views of my room. For the most part, it is done aside from getting some pictures.

Rating for Reviews etc.
Just a quick thing to think about when you are giving someone a review (ie. after you buy a car you may get a survey or Yelp or whatever else):
If you have the 5 options, whether it be stars, the popular strongly dislike-strongly like, or any other type of survey that may effect the business of a place thing of it this way. If you are giving 4 stars out of 5, you are basically saying they are below 80%... Is this really a C to you? 5 stars = 80-100%. I know this post is not well constructed, but realize that your consumer surveys do make a difference.

Quote from Ed Droste
I was reading an interview with singer Ed Droste of Grizzly Bear and really liked this quote:
"I would never be angry at someone for downloading the album. Sometimes people just wanna listen to it first to see if they like it and that's totally fair. I'm as guilty of that as anyone else. The only thing I find a little strange about the download culture now is that people have so much music at their fingertips that it's really easy to dismiss an album quickly. I'm speaking from my own experience, where I've caught myself downloading a bunch of albums and then I sort of listen to one and I'm like, "Eh." And I wasn't really giving it my all or listening to it in the right order. I caught myself one day where I was like, "What am I doing? This is so not how this artist intended it to be."\
I'm with him on this. When you get something new, something unfamiliar, give it a listen. Then listen again and again. After five or so tries, over a weeks time if you do not like it, okay. If you do not give an album a chance like this, you will never really understand it.
Two Bands I recently found:
-Discovery
-jj

A few more pictures from Paris
So here are some pictures from my week in Paris. I will give a little explanation with each.
Here is a picture of me after a day in Versailles, after I mistakenly allowed Kyle to lead us to the Metro stop. Kyle basically has the worst sense of direction of anyone ever.. He lead us about 2-3 miles out of the way to get to a metro.... I should have trusted my instincts and just gone the way I said it was. Well, either way, this is a picture from the Metro stop where he would say, "your face when...." This one is a squirrel in my pants.

This is my face being frustrated with Kyles amazing sense of direction

This is my expression when we finally found a Metro stop

Okay, so that is it for that little sequence. There are some more, but my flickr account is maxed out for the month.
This was on the train after versailles, when were heading back to Paris.

I think this was in Versailles, but I don't recall (the city area, not palace)

For all the 14 year old, middle class girls that have such a difficult life and are contemplating suicide... Don't use pills, do it this way.

I found this painting to be quite beautiful / Another picture of kyle and I before we went out.. Cute huH?

Okay, well that is all for now.. Maybe I'll post some more pictures of art, versailles, etc.
